First Clue is a community storytelling project that collects and shares stories from LGBTQ individuals answering the question “What was your first clue that you were lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer?”
It is a new beginning to the narrative that starts long before “when did you know?” or your “coming out” story.
It is about the small, private moments when you begin to discover who you really are.
First Clue is comprised of stories collected and shared in our online story gallery and at live events.
The project began in 2013 with the making of a short film,First Clue, featuring lesbians sharing their stories. The film premiered at Frameline38 in San Francisco and is currently screening at festivals around the world.
